Keep doing this until you catch a Sturgeon (it will have a large shadow) This obviously works best if the river is shorter. I also scared a lot of fish away in the river to promote new spawns in the river mouth. I learned through this that if you catch and release a fish, it doesn't degrade your fishing rod. I went through over 60 fish with my fishing rod. Had used my rod before going to the island, caught all that fish, and it didn't even break.
