Great movie.

Best Netflix movie since uncut jems and it's a good comparison with what's going on now

I watched the preview. I was worried it was going to go the human centipede gross out route and I passed on it.

I saw the trailer. People live in some kind of prison where everyone is on a different floor with a big hole in the floor and ceiling going all the way up and down. People at the top feast and the floors below get to eat the left overs . Each floor has less and less to eat

That actually sounds kinda cool.

I just watched Shudder's "The Room" today >_> Not the Tommy Wiseau flick

Yup it's a solid movie not anything like human centipede.

More of a psychological thriller

When I first read that plot outline I thought that the top people ate and sent their poop down to the lower floor, and so on probably because thats... what the human centipede is??

Human Centipede was a fantastic film.
It showed mankind how to eat the booty correctly.

I just finished watching it for a 2nd time, reading people's theory on it really changes your perspective on certain things.

Pretty rare for Netflix to Impress me with a original movie. Most of what they produce has been complete garbage.

Can you explain the scene shortly after the main guy kills the old man, they show the old man with some dessert but I have no idea what hes saying to the other people (chefs?), he even touches their faces or something while holding the dessert

one of the chefs left a hair on the desert and he was checking to see who's hair it matched.

what do you think was the message/metaphor of that scene?

I really enjoyed the scene later where we see the chef preparing the escargot
it was really special and beautiful in this grotesque movie

also that giant chocolate cake in the middle looks so appetizing lol

I enjoyed it. Ending was a bit dull, I guess.

There's another Spanish Netflix movie I watched called The Bar. I saw it dubbed in Portuguese. That was great too.

I finished it

(kinda wish i watched it at a different time cuz I have anxiety right now for other reasons but ok)

I actually loved the ending. The message needs no bearer was a great line.

honestly, everyone here who enjoyed it needs to watch Parasite too. It resonated with audiences everywhere with its similar themes

its a interesting parallel to how society tries to portray itself to reality. as you can see the employees didnt know the truth either for example the lady the main charecter was with thought their was only 200 levels but once she woke up and realized she was on level 202 it shattered her mentally knowing she was lied to and she would die there. the cooks and chef are probably in a similar boat.

im just going by what ive read but the theories ive been reading is fascinating. another is what we are watching is actually the 9th ring of hell for hunger/greed and the main charecter is the messiah. pretty wild stuff

I like the circles of hell comparison.

and yes, my favorite character was the worker who brought the dog with her. A bit silly of her to bring the dog, but I felt so bad seeing her fall into despair and ultimately give in to suicide.

Whats the premise of The Bar?

Loved this movie too, just finished it. Although Im not the biggest fan of open ended endings that dont have an actual resolution myself, but I kinda figured this kind of movie would have something like that.

Bunch of people in a small cafe in Madrid. They suddenly realise nobody is outside. One guy runs out and gets taken out by a sniper. Then they hear there's a terror attack going on.

It's nothing new really, but the acting is pretty good and there are some real standout moments.
