If you've never had dim sum you've never lived imo so if you haven't I'd definitely look into some places in your area once/if this pandemic cools down. I used to like it a lot more but Ive lived in East Asia for almost 10 years at this point and now every time I go back to it it just tastes like sugar and preservatives. Real Chinese food can vary in quality but is generally very good. Sushi you can't go wrong with but here in the west you get alot of if with zero fish in it.....I mean I guess that's why my kids like it but without fish it's not really sushi to me.
