No we all hate it.
We don't have the people to even do all of the labor.
Yesterday the warehouse told us to stop ordering, they aren't going to let any store do any overrides at all. So we're getting whatever they send us. They don't have all the people to do it either

This is the biggest issue, stores were not ready and equipped to deal with 2-3x their daily sales

Our meat department has literally just me, my manager and our clerk for a 500 piece delivery today

I don't know what they expect us to be able to do, and we won't be able to cut anything for our case until it's all broken down. They asked me to work 12 hours tho so I'll take the overtime

Apparently our warehouse got 200 store deliveries but only has 133 trucks so we might not even get our delivery today lul. Kinda hoping for it tbh

I'm back from Kroger.

No toilet paper or cheese or even lunch turkey, but I mostly got what I needed, and my parent have reserves of toilet paper so I'm good there. Also already had hand sanitizer, so I'm fine there as well.

Store was busier than it normally is at this time of day, but it wasn't too bad. Can't imagine what it'll be like later today, though.

I went to Kroger last night. I didn't need a lot of stuff, but they were out of most of the eggs, and only had a few of the more expensive brand. The large tubs of oatmeal were gone, and I had to get a smaller one.

Also, my coworker said a fight broke out in the parking lot earlier that day. Apparently, two people were waiting on an item for ClickList, and they brought it out to one of the customers first, and the next person in line was just like "NO THAT'S MINE!" and started wailing on both of them and grabbing it.

We sold out of chest freezers at work, and when people ask we tell them every store statewide is completely sold out. People are hoarding food.

I feel sorry for people working at grocery stores, Wal Mart, Target, and Sam's Club. Workers are going to start calling out and it will only exasberate the problem.

On the other hand, I suppose if you are a hard worker there is money to be made. I assume unlimited overtime is probably approved. I have a friend at a Publix distribution center and they are doing 14 hour shifts I think.

I work in a retail/pharmacy. Weve been short staffed for the last couple of years and its become the new normal, so technically were not understaffed.

And the pharmacy is constantly calling for one of us regular workers to go and help them and the shift leads have to repeatedly tell them that theres no one available. This is something weve had to deal with before the Coronavirus..

Theres always not enough hours and also hours being cut. In the fall management will say that well get more hours towards the holidays and we may have to have another worker to just stay at a 2nd register because of how busy well be. And instead our hours get cut during the holidays.

So no, we were not at all prepared for this virus panic. We havent even finished stocking the warehouse we got on Wednesday and we got another delivery on Friday.

I really feel for grocery workers. I did some shopping yesterday (managed to find TP!) and it was complete chaos. I chatted with the cashier and the guy bagging everything. They were so overwhelmed and they said they were definitely not prepared.

My brother works at Costco, he says the lines have been crazy long and that its scary how totally empty some aisles have gotten. People getting angry and demanding they hurry up and unpack the warehouse delivery they just got.

At the retail store I work at so much time is wasted on helping incompetent adults to work the kiosks & their phones to put in photo orders, some of which require time consuming assembly like canvases.

And totally incompetent adults unable to follow directions on the kiosk to enter their information to send/receive money through Western Union.
This thang dont work Can you type this stuff for me Oooh Im gettin irritated

Oh and were now an optional pick up/drop off site for Fed-Ex/UPS packages & customers will get angry at us and demand to speak to a manager because their package is not there. And some customers have asked why we dont have a Redbox machine, that would just be another set of ****ing problems to deal with.

Impatient customers wanting to purchase cigarettes. Customers not wanting to wait at the front line so they come to photo to be rung up. I have to run back and forth to get locked items for customers. So many other things and were always short-staffed.

And now even longer lines & angry customers because of the Coronavirus. I can go on but Im just frustrating myself and rethinking my poor decisions that lead me to retail. /rant

It's been a hell of a week where I work too, but the past two days were especially bad. I am very fortunate in that I had been scheduled to have off this weekend for about a month now. I do feel bad for my coworkers though. All of us are at risk just by being there among crowds of people while working in narrow aisles. And then pile on the stress of it all. It's not a good time for anyone.

I am literally stick at my parents house few the next few days. And they want to be like these people and go to the store for some eggs. I am trying to make them see that live without eggs for a week. Then I told them I would go pick them up, but they are like no no you are too stick. I did not order enough eggs.
Five fucking pallets of eggs, and all I have left for it is half of pallet of backstock that will probably go out later today.
Displays are running low and I ain't got shit to put in there.
We're nearly out of milk, which is another thing I ordered 7 pallets worth
We're nearly out of biscuits and butter

This shit sucks. Everyone in retail, please stay strong. Vent here if you gotta.
