Do you think that these transgender people start to believe that they're transgender and then, after that, their brains start to exhibit observable traits of the desired gender? They can wait until they're 18 as far as I'm concerned. Kids don't know what they want and change what they want on a whim. Once they're adults and they are fully capable of understanding what they're going to put themselves through and what the consequences are, then they can go ahead with it if that's really what they want.

I remember when I was in high school, I would fantasize about being a girl. I felt that I should have been born one. Thank fuck there was no movement then to encourage that. It woulda been a huge fucking mistake if that would have taken hold in my mind and I did something drastic, cause I grew out of it later.

I'm not sure how thorough the screening process is for transition, but I hope it's just a tad bit more than "Do you feel that you are different than your birth sex? Cool, you're clear!" Here's the meds!".

Is transition the only major procedure someone under the age of 18 can currently legally undergo? Why are issues like this or any LGBT issue always incomparable to anything else? I thought we hated making things special. There are other serious mental and development disorders that we treat children for. We give children drugs and put them under major surgery for a lot of physical issues. Why should this single issue be something that we hold off and completely ignore until the age of 18? Because doctors get it wrong sometimes? Why isn't that a statement against all healthcare then?

Here's another friendly reminder that doctors are not lining 7 year olds up and slicing off their dicks because they said they feel girly sometimes.
