Wrath is an utter beast in Brotherhood.

Shit is going down whenever he enters the field. A REAL antagonist.

Yeah my bad for not checking my auto correct. I forgot S1 is a bit more humorous than the following seasons. I'm guessing to not alienate the 03 fans as they gradually progressed to a more "serious" tone.

Even the small lines add so much, like when Sargeant Brosh quietly mentioned that the Major was gonna take his shirt off and yell at them again for letting the Elrics sneak off lol

Watch the original anime because Brotherhood speeds through the beginning. A three-episode arc in the original is done in like half an episode in Brotherhood.

weak ass villains, scar gets redeemed for no reason, pointless animal men and nothing matters since the father had a backup plan the whole time

I think Brotherhood is the better series, but I enjoy the tone and themes of the original a bit more. Her weak-ass plan aside, Dante is also a better villain than Father. The speech she gives about equivalent exchange being a lie is better than anything he pulls off. By and large, the Homunculi are also better and more fleshed out.

I thought that, overall, the '03 series was better than Brotherhood... until the last nine or ten episodes, where the '03 series was mostly terrible.

it had a few parts that I liked, but if I were to rate them - '03 series 6.5-7/10, Brotherhood 8.5-9/10.

that last stretch just really brought it down, for me.

My girlfriend and I have been watching it off and on whenever we visit: we're about halfway through. It's been a hell of a time, especially considering the original FMA bored me to death, but I love Brotherhood.

Yeah, that was the other one, but that at least got the full episode.

The Fifth Lab spent like a third of the episode with them figuring out they needed to go there.
