Nah, I just choose to not live in a bubble, and be scared of a virus. If this gets to over a million dead worldwide, then Ill reconsider, but right now it looks like a really bad flu.

How I see it is that if you wanna stock up on toilet paper and cower in fear in your apartment, have at it. I have a wife to support, who doesnt have a job of her own because of health issues, and Id rather work in the travel industry to afford her medication, then cower and shut myself in as she suffers from the lack of medication.

Will I put myself at risk at getting the virus and bringing it home? Sure, every day is a risk. My Uber could crash next week in NYC, my bus could wreck in Gettysburg, I could get horribly hurt crossing the street in a busy city. Life is short, and Im not going to live it cowering in fear listening to experts who predict, not know, my future.

When June comes, and the media moves on to something else, the damage to my business will have already been done. Even still, Im going to go out and earn a living as best I can, cause I have to. My wife needs me, and I got two big dogs that I obviously have to feed as well. Life goes on.

Lots of middle aged men are having the same thoughts as me. We cant afford to cower in fear. Ill just be careful not to interact with older folks, but Im not living my life in my house with the TV locked on to the news.

Haha really? Im spending my days cancelling trips from home. Thats, you know, the opposite of making money. Some are threatening lawsuits to my other family members in the business who dont give 100% refunds.

But yeah, Ill work from home in an industry that requires travel.

Do you have to have face to face conversations with all your customers or something? You can book/cancel trips over the phone

I am the face. I put the trips together, collect the money, pay for the excursions, hotels, and airfares.

Im a rarity, however. Yes, they can reach me by phone, but I go to where they go, lead them on trips, stay at the hotel with them, etc. Senior adults dont like doing all of the little things.

That is a really awful way of looking at things. Statistically, it's already considerably worse than the flu. The rate of spread is definitely cause for concern as well as what it has done to Italy

tbh "elderly" is at least mid 70s, possibly older.
