Disagree. Most of the abilities are just general purpose movement options that have applications all over the game world, and the couple with more limited application like Flash can still be used to attack.

I actually really dislike the last ability you are given, because it makes pretty much everything else pointless.

Though at the very least, not counting the last area of the game, there is only 1 collectible/secret in the game that cannot be gotten without it. At least in no way I was able to try(its a big spirit globe above a now windy area)

Yeah the last ability being OP is a bit weird to me, I agree. However I understand that it's also a way to make the player feel really powerful for the final dungeon.

I had the game pretty close to complete before getting it, so it just felt like a cool late-game powerup to me. I backtracked through everything (except the Midnight Burrows) before then. I don't think there are any items you need it for. Which orb are you talking about, red?

The one on a ledge high up above the entrance to Mouldwood, though you can also get it with Bash + Light Burst + Triple Jump

Loving this game but I really disliked the Lumo Pools boss. Felt really hard (in an unintentional way) to actually predict what it was about to do or when was safe to attack without trial and error

There's a charm that converts extra energy into health and that boss has a respawning energy crystal under the water. Basically infinite health

K got a better time but I still missed a lot of optimizations(A dash right onto the first ledge is real tight but possible and will save a full second, and then being able to jumb on the suspended thing at the end to double dash. I think I missed both of these and they are huge)

Now I have a decent time but I think to consistently achieve a better time I need a file that doesn't have access to the dive/water dash ability. Too many close calls lost to accidentally diving. Weird that you cant turn certain abilities off once they are earned(I dont really want to stick to walls either). Hard to achieve ground speed when cutting it close results in a dive half the time.

It would also help a ton if there were a way to turn ghosts off. They are very distracting after awhile.

Damn my game had 3 achievements glitch out on me. Upgrade all shards, acquire all abilities, and complete the game. All 3 are done and glitched out. Weak.

Just cleared the Mouldering Depths

Gotta admit, I did not expect to beat the spider boss and have her be a guardian with friendly eyes. The friendly spiderlings afterwards were a nice touch.

Outside of the game, no, but in the context of the game itself, I think Mouldwood as an area has the best music in the game. Insane mood setter. The second half of the boss fight music bringing in the main theme is hype.

I just beat this game, really took my time with it. Took about 15 hours but it's now at 100% completion. I might give it a go on hard now or wait until the new patch releases soon and then jump back in.

I ultimately loved all of it. It was Blind Forest but 10x. I think I liked the ending a lot too. Bittersweet. Not exactly what I was expecting but I'll take it.

Now I just want a Definitive Edition like the first, where they bring back the Mines areas and whatever else they can throw at us. Not sure this is coming given the studio is building a AAA ARPG now, apparently it's a huge project.
