Only 10% in from Michigan, but it's not encouraging. Biden has broad support across the map so his 10% lead isn't coming from one place only. Only 1% in so far in Wayne County so maybe Bernie can dominate in Detroit later but even if he does, it's a bad look if Biden is winning the Republican areas.

Yeah Dave calls aggressively, but he's one of the guys who knows which precincts are expected to be good for each candidate

I mean....I don't want to see that debate anymore. It's just going to be depressing if we have to deal with Biden absolutely collapsing against Sanders on stage when we already know it won't mean anything. Just gonna be further embarrassment for the state of the party.

It would be in their best interest to cancel. They may end up doing that and just blaming Covid.

Like honestly, this is how elections work. People trust Biden because he was Obama's VP, OK just vote for him in November too fine, whatever. I am pleased that a lot of stuff Bernie wants passed is popular and if people don't think he is the right messenger, sure.

I am not even mad at Warren at this point if she uses her political capital as a senator to do good things like she has always done. No one is owed anyone's support, so she can do whatever she likes I suppose.

Biden is clearly much stronger electorally than Hillary at least in the primary, so yeah. Let's hope.

what i told myself before this cycle even took off was that bernie was already a winner - many of the things he fought for have become mainstream and have become the baseline to which all the other candidate's stuff was compared. as people have posted, polls about support for m4a are at a huge amount of yes even if they don't actually vote for the m4a candidates

(also polls about supporting UBI have had their support rate go up as well, go yang!)

of course then the first 3 states happened and i got my hopes up and so here we all are in despair

I have been very involved in the 2020 Democratic primary. I have donated, I have volunteered my time, and I have had a lot of interest in debating policy and the future of this country.

Tonight my candidate lost the 2020 Democratic primary. To my relief it didn't require anything too outlandish to do him in, at least we have yet to see any leaked e-mailed about stabbing him as we did in 2016. This time I think it was something more simple: fear. The world has gotten a lot darker in 3 years and I think people want a correction more than anything else. As Trump got more reckless and did things that directly risked the harm of people, the more support for Biden grew.

In exit poll after exit poll Bernie Sanders' bold progressive policy ideas were seen as winners by the democratic voters. On people who voted based on policy alone Sanders always was much better to take on his opponents than among people who just want Trump gone. First things first, as it were.

Bernie Sanders and I have a few things in common that have shaped our world view. One of them that is closest to my heart is we both lost our mothers early in life. It is why when Bernie talks about the plight of the working class I realize he is speaking from the heart. He remembers what it is like to be young, poor, and fighting to hold down a job. He internalized that experience and it has stayed with him all of these years even as an old man from Vermont.
I think in two decades, when Bernie Sanders is gone there is going to be a movie about this special man's life. How he fought the establishment and worked tirelessly for the working class and under served poor of this country. Bernie Sanders' work is not done and if last election is any indication he will use whatever time he has left in the Senate giving rich people and the powerful hell. See you around, Senator.

So for the 1 person who cares what will be on my political agenda for the next several months:

1. Working for progressive challengers in House districts that are safely blue and held by people who are not progressive. There is some idiot in Texas who votes with Trump 70% of the time. We got AOC by doing this, and AOC is awesome.

2. Working for democratic challengers in the Senate. Got to flip the senate.

3. Working to elect or re-elect house blues in swing districts. I want to expand that house.
4. Voting for Joe Biden in November

I have many issues with Joe Biden, which I will now cease to talk about because his opponent is no longer a man I respect and admire. He is not facing a champion of the working people and an honest actor. So whatever my problems with Joe are, at the end of the day I know he is a decent man and frankly that's the only bar needed in THIS election now.
