I can't count how many hours I wasted away playing games like Phoenix or Drugwars/Pimp Quest. I even dabbled in Z80 assembly a bit and made my own programs

No wonder teachers didn't like us to have calculators

Yeah, they were silly text-based RPGs that were about as mature as you'd expect

Phoenix was the real star of the show, it was a top down space shooter that had the best grayscale effects the calculator could offer

The Tetris one was a real time killer.
The best game was called Dead Eyes, it was like if Ultima had a Pokemon-style battle system.
