We're pretty much at the two decade mark of their original releases. And the NES which was only 15 years prior was definitely considered retro then.

At this point I'd consider anything pre HDMI retro since you have to buy "retro" cables and etc to use these devices on an HDTV

Some don't IIRC, but there's also the issue that even the ones that do don't always support the signal or something.
