My older brother bought a used atari 2600 at a garage sale when I was like 5 or something. It was the only thing I could play til maybe like age 8 when we got our NES

My first handheld was a launch model old school gameboy with Tetris

My dad had an SNES and an N64 before I was fully sentient. Think N64 was the first console I played.

Handheld: I don't remember if it was a Gameboy or a Game Gear. I do remember the Game Gear took something like six AA batteries so it was terrible as a handheld but the graphics were amazing.

My first console was a Super Nintendo.

By the time I knew what gaming was, there was already an Atari, Colecovision, and NES in the house. My brothers were given some money to buy whatever toy they wanted in 1989 and they looked their money together to buy a Sega Genesis. I was 5 at the time. There wasn't another new system in the house until my mom got us the N64. It was sold out everywhere we went, but she convinced a manager to sell us one that someone had pre-ordered because they hadn't picked it up yet nor paid it off, and she was there with the full amount in hand. I bought a Gameboy Color in atomic purple, because Pokemon was pretty huge and everyone was talking about it and I felt left out. In 99 my older brother worked at JC Penney, and he brought home a Dreamcast a day early. That one died later in 2002, so I bought another one at GameStop used for $50. I think it still works. And I'm rambling now so I think I'll stop there. lol

We either had a NES or borrowed one from a family member or something. The first one I remember playing a lot of was the SNES. But back then it was called a Super Nintendo.
