Remove the 2017 World Series title from Houston?

I don't think it really matters whether the Astros keep their World Series title or not. What matters more is that they are branded as cheaters (with an asterisk) in 2017. But they should do something about the hit by pitches, though. That's not the best form of "retaliation."

NEW and EXCITING!

I know it's be known for a while, but it's still a relevant topic of discussion now that MLB Spring Training is here and the Astros are getting quite the punishment for it....

No. They cheated, they won a World Series, its in the record books now. Prior MVPs like Jason Giambi in 2000 werent renounced after learning he was on PEDs. Gaylord Perry is in the Hall of Fame, even though we know about his use of the spitter.

Keep the history intact, but tell the whole story when you talk about the 2017 World Series.

Yes, the title should be vacated. But the more important part is actually punishing the players who cheated with suspensions and very heavy fines.

Bullshit. The fact that a pitcher could possibly get suspended longer for hitting Jose Altuve with one pitch this season than Altuve himself (and the rest of the Astros) got for three straight years of cheating the game is absolutely laughable. If the league won't punish the Astros players, then the other teams have every right to do it themselves (to a realistic extent, not so far that they try to intentionally injure someone) in the league's place.

How did they cheat? Can anyone walk someone who isnt a huge fan of baseball through it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Astros_sign_stealing_scandal

They used cameras and other electronic equipment to "steal signs" from the opposing teams' catchers, so they essentially always knew what pitches the other team's pitcher was going to throw and had ways to quickly relay that information to the hitter at the plate. That is an absolutely massive advantage to their hitters, arguably an even bigger advantage than a player using steroids. Note that sign stealing itself isn't technically against MLB rules (like if a runner on second base sees a sign with their own two eyes, which usually leads to the pitcher/catcher changing the signs for a while) but the use of electronic equipment to steal signs is the line that the Astros crossed.

interesting, so kind of similar to what the patriots did then?

Sort of, but much worse. The Patriots "spygate" scandal was them seeing what plays the other team had before the game and knowing what they might run in the upcoming game. What the Astros did was the equivalent of knowing exactly what play the other team was calling on every down of every possession of every game.

Yes, 100%

It's absurd that it hasn't been. The only reason why they have a championship is directly due to cheating.
