I'm 19 and have never gone to concerts or sport events with loud noise. I've been dealing with this since like last summer. I understand it's incurable if hearing loss but I don't understand how I sustained hearing loss

I would, for sure. I have been rough on my ears all my life, i'm nearly 40 and I don't even have a hint of it yet. You are too young to be experiencing that imo.

Google search yields:

"Common causes of this symptom
Ringing in ears can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include exposure to loud sounds, whiplash, head injuries, too much ear wax, or medication side effects."

Since apparently you don't have exposure to loud sounds, does anything else on this list apply? How bad is the ringing? Clearly it must be something noticeable to you if you've only began to notice it recently. I'd visit a doc to have it checked out to see what's going on.

Exactly. My first thought is you have some weird dirt/wax build up. When I was TC's age, I worked in a very dirty environment and started feeling like I had something in my ear. The doctor did an ear irrigation and sure enough I had this rock hard wax build up inside my ear.

My ears over produce wax so I've gotten them flushed three times. I just had them cleared out yesterday but the ringing is still there. They've said that the eardrum appears healthy

I have tinnitus in my right ear too. I went to an ENT doctor, but they couldn't really do anything.

They only thing they suggested was cognitive behavior therapy. Problem with the ringing is I had trouble sleeping with it for a month and developed an anxiety disorder because of it. Now I'm dealing with that and the ringing. I don't even really care about the ringing anymore, but the anxiety disorder or whatever the fuck this is has been kicking my ass.

I guess you'll just have to learn coping skills to deal with it. Tinnitus also feeds on stress so the more stressed you are the louder it will sound. Hope you deal with it better than what I have because mine fucked me up.

Ive had tinnitus for 12 years due to a gunshot. It sounds like that flash bang effect youd hear from a video game but its not very loud unless youre in a quiet environment. If youre having issues sleeping try using a loud fan for background noise or listen to one of those 10 hour rain & thunder white noise videos on YouTube and use a Bluetooth speaker or some comfortable earbuds. Hope this helps.

wow a single gunshot? I used to be around gunshots when I was really young due to my dad shooting and I speculate that's the cause.

As much as tinnitus is caused from hearing loss, the actual ringing sound is your brain trying to fix the problem.

so built up ear wax wasn't a problem. By some small chance it could be viral and they will ask you to take medication to treat that, which i did both to no avail.

I think my tinnitus was caused by repeatedly listening to music on my mp3 player on a bus... It happened in 2011 and it sucked. Do you listen to music a lot (like via earphones)?

I would go to a doctor anyway, and ENT and get your hearing checked at least. When I got my hearing checked I had a sudden drop in my right dear that may have came with my tinnitus. It's minor but enough to have problems hearing speech at certain low pitches at certain distances.

You will get used to it. Zinc supposedly helps reduces the ringing.. You'll only notice it during the night in your roo when its quiet.. Just try to not think about it

My kid brother jammed an air soft gun into my ear canal and fired, so I could hear the spring loaded mechanism echoing in my ears for a solid 2 minutes and Ive had ringing in both ears ever since.

It was definitely the worst moment of my life but Ill never forget him getting choke slammed by my dad right after it happened. Little shit, lol.
