I saw all kinds of different answers, but I got a totally different answer than anyone. People were getting 30, 20, 19, 16, but I got 14. What gives? How wrong am I?

If you think of it as half the value of the double whistle it could be a 2 for an answer of 20 I believe.

I didn't notice that the last whistle is half of the other whistles, however that last coach doesn't have a whistle around his neck which I did notice from the beginning.

Answer: 16

Each shoe is 5.
The kid is 3 (on his own, when not wearing a whistle).
Each whistle is 2.

Row 1: (5+5) + (5+5) + (5+5) = 30
Row 2: (5+5) + (3+2) + (3+2) = 20
Row 3: (3+2) + (2+2) + (2+2) = 13
Row 4: (5+5) + 3 x 2 = 16

Wait if the two whistles is 4 one could be 2 so a couch - his whistle could be 5-2 or 3, but do we look at the couch as 3 5-2 or (5-2)?

if 3 or (5-2) the answer is 16 maybe?

if 5-2 11?

Wow, the last equation has 1 whistle instead of 2! Lol

as not-math as these things are, finding the tricks is a fun game in and of itself. there was one a little while ago with different amounts of chocolate chips on the cookies. the first missing whistle in this one is pretty standard. but the second one is a nice touch.

Correct. Images should be treated equally as variables. If they are different even by a small detail, they're different variables.

I can't say that 2x + 3x' = 5x for that reason. x and x' are related but nothing directly states what that relationship is.

guy+whistle = 5

guy+5*whistle = 13
guy+5*whistle-(guy+whistle)=13-5
4*whistle=8
