From the early tracks I didn't expect it to be Currents- tier, but that's okay

The non-single songs all slap, that's for sure. I even warmed up to Lost In Yesterday when I thought that one sucked at the first few listens lol

My only problem is that there's no song on the same level as Let It Happen or TLIKTB, although he does try something close to that with One More Hour

I'd post my favorite songs but honestly it's all really great, so long as you aren't expecting him to top Currents

Was about to make this topic until I searched to see if someone else had made a topic. Listening to it now, been waiting on it since the initial "it should be out by the end of summer 2019" announcement.

Really chill. Borderlines is probably my favorite so far, but I've only listened to 4 songs so I'll probably edit this later.

I think my biggest issue with this song is that theres no one song I can look to and go yeah, listen to this one

nothing like Let It Happen or TLIKTB, but whats there is pretty good

One More Year is a really bad opening though lol, Im glad Instant Destiny is right behind it.

I really hate that he took out the ahhh in the beginning of Borderline, that was my favorite part of the whole song. Sure its small but it set the tone for the song and got me in the right mood for it every time I heard it.

Anyways, I dont think its better than Currents, which lots of people are saying it is. Currents is still his best album. My favorite tracks are Borderline, Breathe Deeper, Lost in Yesterday, and Is It True.

That acid house bit at the end of Breathe Deeper (from around 5:00 to the end) was my favorite part of the album, such a surprise and it satisfied the EDM fan part of me.

As someone who has been listening/loving Tame Impala since Lonerism came out in 2012, I love this album but I wonder if it will hold up well like the rest of his work. I really like One More Year; reminds me of a Washed Out song and perfect way to start the album. Cant really name a favorite but Is It True has been on my mind nonstop.

Is It True has a really good vibe, Ive been thinking about it too lol

Breathe Deeper is really nice but I think it couldve done with less of the Believe me I can lines, it was this close to being repetitive but that ending made up for it all for sure

Posthumous Forgiveness might become one of his best songs ever, it hit a little too close to home for me

And yeah, Currents might still be his magnum opus but that doesnt mean this one isnt nice as well I think. Just that no song will be as immediately gripping as Let It Happen lol. I liked reading the interview where he confesses to trying to relearn music with his last two albums, and it definitely shows.

honestly i think he's gotten worse with every album from a songwriting perspective. the production is clean as hell tho
