At launch, it was a slow, boring, campy, boring, slow, boring, campy, slow, boring, camper's wet dream of a game. But after a few updates (including several new maps and the newest overhaul of the perk system) it's better. Still not great, but better.

Campaign was worth it for me.

I don't play multiplayer at all, but I loved the campaign. It was pretty gritty (even though there is no single instance like No Russian, there are several throughout that set a similarly dark tone), it looks amazing, and missions like Wolf Den and Cleaning House are a fucking blast to play and replay. I wish there were many more sections like those and would have loved if those missions were 3 times the length they are.

I plan on replaying the campaign this weekend in fact after first finishing it back in November/December

If you mostly like the campaign and spec ops modes, it's worth buying for those. But if you usually only play standard multiplayer, then IMO this one's not worth it. Something to keep in mind: there have been rumors (AKA leaks that have all but confirmed it) that there's going to be a free-to-play MW Battle Royale coming in the near future. So if you want to satisfy your CoD itch but don't want to spend $60, maybe wait for that.

Or buy CoD WW2 for like $20 instead. Way better game IMO, even if it's two years old now.

It's literally nothing but camping and headglitching, and the maps are some of the worst I've ever played in a CoD game because they exacerbate the main problem. They're just loaded with shit laying around for people to hide in, and they're just chock full of convoluted paths. it's like every map is a flat ant colony

this is mostly why

camping is at a huge advantage because dead silence is no longer a perk and footsteps are very loud, and you can no longer effectively use explosives to kill campers either

the maps like he said have way too fucking much going on, there's a hundred places to get shot from everywhere you go so moving around the map is awful

and the weapon balance is really bad too and they're so incredibly slow to change things

also the latest patch allows players to exploit a new system into changing the color of their nametag ingame which makes it look like enemies are on your team, so get fucked legitimate players!

One of the most problem-riddled games I've played that I can't seem to put down. There's a lot of issues with map design but I still really enjoy it.
