I know what you mean. Not my worst, but I do know what you mean.

Exhaustion from socializing. I can go to work and explain to customers the ins and outs of their medications, I can call insurers and walk through problems, I can go to school and tutor, I absolutely love all of those because they keep me feeling busy and productive, but I HATE it when a coworker asks me about my weekend.

Mine is definitely apathy. Which leads to laziness. Everyone around me seems to accept that I'm not gonna care about improving my life if it's not enjoyable. Also, no one expects me to give excited responses to big news. Like I was one the first one my cousin told that his wife was pregnant again. And I plain face just instantly going into talking about logical positives of having 2 kids around the same age. So I'm forgivable, cause Im a very positive guy but sometimes I wonder if people feel slighted by my lack of excitement for big moments in their life.

Anger. I can't get angry enough when it is deserved. My reflex is to push it down and temper every situation, when in reality being genuinely outwardly angry towards someone is the only appropriate response.

Maybe it's why I'm such an angry poster.

I always get the feeling you willingly settled into this instead of trying to make it a phase of your life. You need to fight your impulses to be a doormat. You seem like a good dude, so it's sad that you accepted this position. I use to feel like a doormat, now Ill be damned if my opinion doesn't get noted and heavily considered when I care about something. Just start by answering easy questions like "where/what you wanna eat?" Or "Do you have a preference in what we watch?" with assertiveness. Are you around people who ask stuff like that?

I used to be like this. Part of this was just the social parts of my brain finally catching up with the rest, but I put work into developing, for lack of a better term, a "persona". Not a fake attitude, or anything, just a different way of still being myself. Turn the levels on some aspects down, turn other aspects up. Rewire the energy for some interests into different situations. Learning small talk was important.

Stop worrying about going to far with it this early on. That's like trying to measure out a gallon of water and already becoming cautious when you only poured an ounce. There is much worse than slightly being an asshole. I've been on both sides. I use to get anxiety at the thought of maybe hurting someones feelings. That shits over with and good riddance.

I mean, I just made accusations at you in my first post and I barely even know you like that. Did you get offended? Cause it seems like you didn't, seems like you just looked past them with barely any attention to it and replied calmly and reasonably. You didn't take it to heart. The people worth talking to don't take that shit to heart. If someone flips out over small assumptions like that, you just finish the conversation and not talk to them in depth anymore. Keep it surface level. You get that choice and power.

That accusation didn't really bother me. The ones that do really hit me though. I honestly didn't even realize that was an accusation rather than just a statement.

Eh, I kind of stretched it to make my point lol. I feel you. My situation was pretty anecdotal as well. But really tho, try to work on not worrying about being an asshole. This would be a good place to start. Say what you want, instead of what you think people wanna hear. See what reactions you get.
