I know what you mean and I feel you.

For me, when I see a driver doing similar dumb shit, I immediately react to it like that person is just dumb and should stay off the road but in truth we honestly dunno what's going through their mind. We dunno if they're playing on their cell phone that's causing them to be drive bad or if they are genuinely distress. We dunno so we can only hope to pass through it as best we can. Hard to grasp on integrity in times like this but we gotta do it some how.

Then they need to get the fuck out of the left lane. Should be illegal to be 70 or older and stay in the left lane.

I believe here in CA its part of the code to pull over if there are 5 cars behind you. This driver did the right thing (too late, but maybe there were no turnouts?).

This is why I rarely drive and I hate being a passenger in a car, especially on the free/highways. Shits terrifying because so many people just wanna go fast, fast, fast like theyre in that Will Ferrell movie.

Dangerous enough that you can be ticketed for creating unsafe driving conditions. That being said, if they're in the right lane the chances of being ticketed are next to null.

You pretty much have to be going way under the limit to get a ticket for it. 10 under is unlikely to do it

Passing on rural single lane roads can often be tricky. The roads are curvy or hilly which makes passing hard. In addition, if you have a slow car in the lead you can end up with multiple cars behind it and passing becomes impossible.

If you are on a single land road you need to go the speed limit. If for whatever reason you can't, you need to find a spot to pull over and allow the cars behind you to go around you. Going slow is going to create a dangerous environment.

I dunno, I rarely speed because I'm punctual and I give myself extra time for travel, but when someone gets in my way its fucking infuriating.

Like this morning.

I have to get on a 4 lane highway to get my kiddo to school, but after the highway is a 4 or 5 mile stretch of single lane. The speed limit is 65. This dude pulls out in front of me after I've already reached the speed limit. He could see me because I could see him. Even had my headlights on. It was close enough that I had to stomp the brakes to avoid hitting him. He then proceeds to go 45 mph the entire duration of the 65 zone, when the speed limit dropped to 50 he went down to 30. I couldn't pass because of oncoming traffic.

People like that shouldn't be driving, period.

Around the freeways I'm on, they have meters on the side of the road that tell you the speed you're going. And if it's even 1MPH over the speed limit, it'll blink "SLOW DOWN". There you go, an official (object?) is telling me not to go even slightly over the speed limit.

That's probably just someone who didn't know how to program it right.

In my experience with those, it'll blink at you if you're going too fast but won't flash slow down unless you're going like 15-20 over

Only one I've seen to memory that might flash slow down if over the limit was one where i was coming off of a mountain pass, and that made sense.

Like bro code or a law? Cause if it's a law that's stupid. People should focus on the road and not trying to count how many cars are behind them by staring in the rearview

I'm not sure if it's exactly 1MPH. I've personally had it say it when I'm doing 3MPH over the limit.

And they've been doing that here for a couple years (though they aren't there al the time. Just every few weeks/months). So I figure someone would have fixed it if it wasn't meant to do that. And they're on normal freeways, nowhere near the mountains or any dangerous areas.

To me, the bare minimum we as a society can ask of drivers to do on the road, is go the set speed limit.

If you don't want to speed that's fine.

Don't want to use your turn signals? you're an asshole but whatever

but go the damn speed limit

Driving code. Not technically a law, just a guideline. I dont think the exact number of cars matters.

Yup, I do the same thing.
The people from New Jersey drive light speeds in the mountains, they are a pain.
But the locals are just trying to get home.

In Florida, most drivers speed. Many speed excessively. I usually do at least five to ten over in city roads and 20 to 25 over on the freeway.

Cops always speed, and they do like 85 in a 70 on the highway here.
