Linking your account is so dumb. Why are you opening a web browser rather than letting me log in through the app? And then the linking doesn't even work even though I keep logging in through the browser. This is about what I've come to expect from Nintendo.

Turns out it doesn't play well with Firefox for Android. I switched to Chrome and it worked fine.

Then finishing up let's go pikachu and transferring all that into home as well But mainly meltan and melmetal

Probably the new ones from USUM. I don't think that you could ever put them in Bank, so I guess it makes sense that they aren't transferable.

It's the Kanto and Alolan starters, plus Mewtwo, Celebi, Jirachi, the Swords of Justice, the Tao trio, Cosmog's line, Necrozma, Marshadow, Zeraora, and Meltan's line.

I didn't realize beforehand how annoying it'd be to have GTS separated from a game, at least when it comes to searching for trades (not depositing)

As in like, someone is trading X and asking for Y, and you have Y but that Y has to be banked at the time to do the trade. So unless you have all your Pokemon banked at the time (aka you have Premium) you'll have to swap back-and-forth. At least the Pokeball icon still shows up signifying you own them but I'm not sure if it's because I already put all my pokes in & then out, or if it would read my save files existing Pokemon (despite not allowing to trade them directly)

I mean it's kinda obvious it would work that way but yeah annoying when we used to just have a GTS on the games with all our Pokemon in them

... oh right, and the fact you can only use the GTS on the app, and you can only deposit/withdraw your Pokemon on the Switch, so not only are you swapping back/forth functions to satisfy a trade, but each of those functions are only handled on the opposite device........ whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

seriously whyyyyy don't they just have GTS on the Switch, it's already annoying without that

You can use them at the same time.

What he's saying is if you don't have the Pokemon you want to trade over GTS in Home, you gotta turn on your Switch to move it there first, then go back to mobile to make the trade.

I'm too lazy to proofread but I don't think I said that o_o, just the opposite that you have to use them at the same time is what's annoying

although depends how you consider "at the same time", like if you have the app and Switch open a the same time, deposit/withdraw a Pokemon on the Switch, it disconnects you from the app until the deposit/withdraw is done, but that's not particularly a problem... who needs to do something concurrently to that degree... other than to try to cause a bug/glitch of some kind

I'm waiting until the final DLC is out, then I'll see what's worth moving over, pay for Bank, pay for 1 month of Home to get it over with, and hope the free box is enough to store whatever legendaries still can't be sent to S/S.

It's also possible (and maybe even more likely) that I still won't bother with it until they eventually announce they're ditching support for Bank and then I'll scramble.
