Would you request the day off if it were you?

There's a chocolate festival next month. Tickets aren't cheap, and the event is on a Saturday.

Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. The thing is, I started a second job in order to pay off my student loans early. Couple the price with the loss of pay from missing a day, and I'm really not sure if I should go this year.

Then again, the loss of pay would come out to around ~$70-75 (it's a McJob). In the grand scheme of things, that's barely a dent in my very high student loan debt. Also, I don't really get time off unless I request off because there's my regular job on weekdays and then the second job on the weekends.

Still, that's $70 that could go towards the debt, and an expensive ticket I wouldn't have to buy. I'm really not sure. What would you lot do in my situation?

If it's something you really want to do then you should definitely go. What's the point of living if you don't go to a chocolate festival every now and then?

I feel like food festivals are generally not worth it. Do the tickets include anything, or is it just the cost of admission?

Two types of tickets. One includes chocolate samples and alcohol, the other just the chocolate samples.

Was really hoping one of the types of ticket was made out of chocolate.

Ask yourself- why don't you work 10 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Just take the day off.

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Also gonna add that considering youre working 7 days a week, use the day to give yourself a break.

You want to take them when you can.

Haven't decided. I'm not a heavy drinker (and kind of paid for it last year), but I do like having a few during special events.

I guess that decides it.

I've bought the ticket (getting the alcohol + chocolate version). I'll just need to remember to request the day off.
