Do you think Parasite was "Liberal Propaganda" against capitalism?
Vote
Bong Joon-Ho shocked the world when he took home the prestiguous prize and made Oscar history as the firt non-english movie while 1917 only took home 3 awards as it was the heavy favourite to win Best Picture Angry fans took to twitter while already grating on the politics of the show when Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt took to the stage to lecture the audience on the "liberal agenda" as they were especially disgusted over Human Rights Speeches and Veganism talk. Others believed Parasite only won because of the backlash of "OscarsSoWhite" tag which once again dominated the talk this year with little minority representation They described it as the "Worst Oscars Ever" and vowed never to watch again while also lambasting the fact that many people never heard or watched the Korean film that has won huge praise for its contemporary story on Capitalism as the film depicts a poor family who dreams of being part of the rich and goes to extreme lengths to get there. Bong is known for weaving social themes into his stories as his movies are courtesy toward human beings and human dignity. He himself was a bottle throwing PROTESTER back in his day before he became a director. I'm sick of war movies, and I like movies that focus more on character drama and dialogue as well as interesting themes. There's only so many times you can dramatise the same wars with the same themes of heroism, bravery and sacrifice, and I've had my fill. The wars are worth remembering for the loss of life they generated, and their effects on the world and lessons to humanity should not be forgotten - in Australia, our remembrance Day on the 11th of November is "Lest we Forget". But for the life of me, regardless of whatever new gimmick they're trying out, I've had it up to here with these fucking war movies.
Movies like Parasite are trying to break new ground and tell new stories about new things. I find that much more interesting and commendable than another director putting a brave, gritty view on WWI or WWII for the 15th time since Saving Private Ryan. I don't fucking care about war movies. The wars themselves are worth remembering and respecting, and there are movies like Saving Private Ryan that are worth remembering. but I do not give a flying fuck about another war movie. Every time someone crams out a big war movie, do we have to shower it with the highest accolades? I don't think so. Parasite sounds interesting and somewhat unique, 1917 sounds like another fucking war movie with a gimmick. --- Now Playing: Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed ... Copied to Clipboard!

There were actually people up there accepting an award and using that time to talk about veganism? Seriously?

Who are these conservative crybabies? They sound like nobodies.
Conservatives loved American Sniper and Hacksaw Ridge. Oh, and The Passion of the Christ, if were including non military movies. Edit: Btw, the most snubbed Oscar nominee has to be The Irishman. It also had 10 noms, but won nothing. (This is in response to some people saying 1917 was most snubbed.) --- ... ... Copied to Clipboard!

All war movies are about is showing soldiers being sad over killing people.

I disagree that The Irishman was snubbed; it was a good movie, IMO, but I don't think that it was the strongest candidate in any of the categories that it was nominated for.
anyway, I haven't seen 1917, but I thought that Parasite was amazing. --- b-bb-box ... Copied to Clipboard!

1917 was good. That's it. It didn't set out to be anything more than a good flick. It's no Citizen Kane and it doesn't want to be.
