Do you have enough savings to keep you afloat for 3-6 months?

Do you have enough skills where you think you could find another job quickly?

Are there enough quality job openings where you live or are you hampered by being in a rural area?

I own my own trade business, so sure, but to answer that question: None of your business.

Do you have enough skills where you think you could find another job quickly?

I could easily get another job with my experience. The largest gap I had in employment history is about 1 month and that was mainly because I was having to recover from an injury.

i'd be straight. i have enough saved up to last awhile. i just got back into school so i'd debate on not even really looking for a job although i probably would still after a month or two off. but would be nice to just focus on school and then get a job. i could live job free at least a year.

Family business, so that would be pretty fucked. Only job I've ever had, so I've never even filled out a resume. Though I don't think it would be particularly hard to find something else, but definitely not as high paying unless I get a degree somewhere. I could go a while without being too hard pressed at least.

Kind of fucked. I could easily get another job in the area, but it would mean starting at the bottom.

Or I could leave town and go stay with my parents which has been my eventual plan for a while, but I'm behind on rent and the landlord is my best bud and I'm not an asshole.

I can find a job easy, not because I'm great at anything, but mainly because my fiance could easily put me on on her job. For the sake of not having that to fall back on, I can still land a job as a fast food worker or construction worker since I don't view myself above these positions.

My work ethic also would help me go up the ladder, so I'm not too worried about it. It would be stressful for a few weeks, but eventually I'll charm my way into a job.

If I lost my job I have enough money in savings to probably survive a good year (between stocks and savings account) but I would probably be fucked in that people in my career field don't just "lose their job" without a reason that generally impacts their ability to get another job easily.

Maybe two months at max, which is more than enough time to find another job.

Been at my current job for 10 years. That kinda longevity looks good on a resume.

There are plenty of jobs around here. They're unappealing in that they are high hours/low wage, garbage benefits but if i was in a pinch I'd work at one.

I can retreat back home to relatives at the companies expense for housing until I found work which would take all but a week if not a few days likely. Along with a few thousands in stocks which I'm wont touch.

I have a year+ of professional otr truck driving experiences with a good driving record so there are a wealth of jobs I hoo on in a moment's notice anywhere in the country.

My husband lost his job nine months ago. After his severance ran out, he filed for unemployment in January but hasn't received anything yet. We could live for several years but would be cutting into liquid savings and eventually retirement (our own self-designated, not the kind that carry penalties, such as our 401ks). I have a job, but it doesn't even cover the mortgage payment. (I'm a teacher. We live in the Bay Area.) Fortunately my husband is a Reservist, so we have access to affordable health insurance. Lucky me, I work for a school district that doesn't provide health insurance. I could purchase it, but it is very expensive.

If I lost my job, we would not be in dire straits. But if things don't turn around for my husband, we probably will have to move back to our old house in southern CA (currently rented out).

We are very fortunate, but we also forego a lot of pleasures. We haven't taken a vacation for two summers now. We rarely eat out (and never buy alcohol), and we don't have expensive tastes. So we have a lot of savings.
