2 is such a good game. My only complaint was the backtracking into old stages that are slightly altered thing. Also the first arc felt a lot stronger horror wise than the second arc. The Anima hazard was hella creepy.

If you have an older disc I assume it still has the license tracks and hasn't been patched out?

@kayoticdreamz It looks like they just relicensed the music, so regardless you'll have all the tracks there. I just wasn't sure how they resolved the licensing thing initially.

I always have to give a shout out to Secret World Legends, too. It's a free-to-play online RPG that you can easily solo, and it's got a great story with lore based on everything from Lovecraft to King and everything in between. And it has a nice mission variety - you've got some standard "kill zombies and throw their limbs in a fire" shit and then you've got "read a short excerpt from a manual on a radio antenna, figure out which parts you need to repair it, then translate a Morse code message to get some coordinates to investigate what this company is doing on the island".

Alan Wake is one of the best games of the last 10 years. The atmosphere is AMAZING. Plenty of content, as well, I suspect about 50+ hours for a good gamer. And the DLC and American Nightmare are fun, as well.

oh man, so I played the demo for Evil Within 2 and I really enjoyed it. I'll probably get both games, hoping the first one goes back down to five bucks some time soon? apparently I just missed it being on sale less than a month ago so that sucks

@ alan wake, I actually got it on steam a few years back because i heard it was twin peaks-y but never got around to trying it. i'll have to remember it for this, thanks

tangentially related but the original 1-3 resident evil games are on sale on psn store for ps3 (not sure about ps4? idk how stuff works) for a couple more days, it's like $6 for all three

Alien isolation has a killer environment, hide and seek gameplay that is well balanced.

Not so much the shooting that you want but it's such a good game
