Doom 64 was good

it used the same engine as Doom 1 and 2, but it was an entirely new game.

People crap on Doom 64 because it didn't do all that much to separate itself from the originals, but it's still a good game. Also love that there is so much Doom playing happening on this board lately.

I think people also often hated having to use an N64 controller to play the game. Also the lighting. Years ago I played a Doom II total conversion mod of it which allowed me to play it with mouse and keyboard. Obviously it may not have been the most accurate presentation of the game, but I enjoyed it.

If people didn't hate the controller for the much beloved Goldeneye then I can't see why it'd be a huge sticking point for Doom 64.

if you wanna rebuy DOOM, there's a pretty nice special edition that includes DOOM 1, 2, 3 and 2016 for consoles, it's frequently cheap ($20), and comes with goodies like a poster and $10 rebate for DOOM Eternal

or just buy it on PC it's like $5. already have it? buy a copy for a friend!

You don't need to use two controllers. As that picture states, that's control style 2.1. The default control scheme uses one controller and holding down-C makes you strafe.
