I still think the 1st one is the best, but I really enjoyed Reloaded and Revolutions.

None of the movies were really my thing, but I liked the highway and chateau scenes from Reloaded a whole lot.

I liked them! The original is the best but I always felt the sequels got too much hate.

Revolutions mostly deserves its hate, some of Reloaded's hate is only due to its proximity to Revolutions

Nothing was going to live up to the original, obviously. But I agree, the sequel were much better than their reputation.

(Spoiler warning I guess)

2 was interesting. Had some issues, but there's a lot of stuff I really liked, the weird philosophy talk, the first encounter with multiple smiths, the cliffhanger where Neo somehow turns off machines outside the matrix, hinting that maybe there was a matrix within a matrix.

3 the philosophy was gone, the hints that Neo had powers outside the matrix were gone, it was pretty much just...a big Dragonball Z fight. And...I guess it was kinda cool to see that in live action with CG but...honestly I've felt urges to go back and watch Dragonball Z on youtube, and found it still holds up. I've never felt the urge to rewatch Matrix 3. So in retrospect it wasn't even a particularly good Dragonball Z fight.

I preferred 3 to 2, personally.

i think a lot of people like reloaded.

one of my problems with it is that it raised some interesting questions that didn't get satisfactory answers in revolutions. this made reloaded worse in the long run.

also, a lot of the story/"philosophy" doesn't make sense. for instance, the architect says "the first matrixes didn't work because my mind is too bound by perfection. so the oracle, whose mind isn't bound by perfection, created one where the humans were presented a choice. but that failed too, so then we had to create anomaly of the one." but... why did the program of the oracle fail? he doesn't offer any kind of explanation, he just says "yeah, that didn't work" and moves on. the writing in the movie is just kinda weak.

For awhile Reloaded was my favorite of the trilogy. It's fine until the plot starts going off the rails at the end of the movie. Then it goes full hog in Revolutions.

I like the attack with the mechs defending the station in revolutions.
