The last time a president failed to get reelected, it was because of one broken promise: "Read my lips: no new taxes." If the same thing happened today, I don't think it would effect the outcome of the next election.

We're not willing to face the unknown until we're forced to. When a president is elected, they stay elected. We'll stick with the devil we know no matter what. Then, when we are forced to elect a new president, we'll flock en mass to the opposing party and hope that a glorious new wave will undo all the wrongs wrought by the last administration. The that effect, Trump is gonna win 2020 and then Democrats will have a landslide victory in 2024.

At the end of the day, we don't know what Sanders or Biden will do. We know Trump will talk out of his ass. We know he'll make some bad deals. But we know what to expect from him. Even if you hate him ten times as much as the next person, your vote only counts for one vote. You're not going to motivate other people to get out there and vote against him. A full-on war with Iran might get him ousted. Blocking of witnesses will not. I don't think anybody hates him now who didn't hate him two days ago. And I don't think anybody is excited about Bernie or Biden who wasn't excited about them two days ago.

yeah yeah we know Trump has got this in the bag and more horrible shit will come from him the question now is will his attempts at dictatorship actually be successful since Republicans don't are and the public is too up in twitter rage to care
