This topic has let me know that I know absolutely nothing about the plot in Phantom of the Opera.

I mean, this video isn't strictly about the Phantom being an incel, but it does give an overview of the original novel/serial, notes on a ton of adaptations and Lindsay Ellis is a huge Phantom mark so she obviously enjoys the subject. The main subject is a Persian character from the original novel that is either removed or replaced in future adaptations, with the irony being that he's treated pretty well in the original work and treated like a "weird foreigner" in adaptations.

how is he not an incel, he is a creepy sewer dweller, who kidnaps a girl, helps her with an issue, then when she does not love him back he swear revenge. In the mind while he wrights edge music that he thinks no one else would full understand. All while hating the cute jock she the girl is dating .

It's probably for the best that he's made a white guy in the movies so as not to play into the "Arabs are rapists" stereotype.
