It didn't start as a sex cult, it turned into one over time. Kreuk left before it became a sex cult, or so she claims.

Yeesh, I just a looked up a bit of info. She (Mack) was arrested and charged with sex trafficking and forced labor. Managed to get it down to racketeering, plead guilty and is awaiting sentencing.

She's also married to another girl from the cult who was alleged to be a "master" and was a member for 13 years, though its speculated that its only for a green card (she's canadian)

I used to have such a thing for them, too. Which is why the sex cult story went from sexy to oh god no in seconds flat as the details emerged.

I read an article about scientology, apparently they had stands in a mall or whatever. They offer you a free personality test and give you legit good tips (e.g. "you're shy, try socializing more, here, try this ice breaking routine") and then they tell you that's what scientology is about. Then they tell you that Tom Cruise, Travolta, etc are scientologists... "that's not bad company to have, right?" (literal phrase, they sort of suggest you'd get to see them, which is obviously not true).

So you join. Then they start talking about "audits' and a "999 year contract with the SEA corporation" and down the rabbit hole you go to "we're alien souls trapped into a human body and our fears and trauma are implants from the evil intergallatic lord xenu, who sent little orange bombs that would talk to explode in our home planet" (yes, no kidding, they say this)

Scientology puts a public face and a private face. We were never suppose to know of the secret beliefs of Scientology. The public was just suppose to see it as some alternative to psychology. However now all it's secrets are out there. And it shouldn't be so surprising since it was created by a Sci-fi writer.

Yeah I sincerely doubt she is, but the fact of the matter is that media wise she was able to escape any scrutiny and most people don't even know the fact that she was in that cult first. It's like when your friends introduce you to something and they get out of it.
