I'd be happy with Waluigi in theory, but Sakurai has made it really obvious that he despises the character, and would most likely make him into a complete joke, and I don't just mean goofy attacks (I'd actually expect that from the character). I mean he'd make him Melee Pichu levels of pathetic. So fans have to ask themselves, is that worth it?

I don't think Sakurai despises Waluigi, but he's definitely dismissive of him, and considering that Waluigi is a D-list Nintendo character when he's not being meme'd I think Sakurai is right to think that way, and I say that as someone who would be fine with Waluigi getting in. Most people who want Waluigi in would stop caring minutes after he was revealed and would never actually use him.
