It's weird for some (all?) other countries. The US washes their eggs which removes a tiny layer that makes the eggs less porous. Other countries don't wash their eggs, so you don't have to refrigerate them.

The issue is apparently salmonella from the chicken's ovaries. Other countries vaccinate the chickens against it, we wash the eggs. Same results, different methods.

We always store our eggs in the refrigerator in Sweden, because they last longer that way.

MM/DD/YYYY is the method I use and how everyone else did it at school.

We refrigerate eggs here. You get them from coolers at the store, bring them home and put them in the fridge. Older fridge models even had slots for individual eggs in the door.

As an American in the Midwest (so you cant say Im out of touch living on the coast) its how oblivious of our own hypocrisy some of us are.

-Claim to love freedom but support voting laws which thwart democracy.

-Claim to be religious but hate the poor and endorse war

-Claim we need to be fiscally responsible but only apply that to social programs. Military and corporate bailouts are never questioned but food stamps how are we gonna pay for it?!

This holds true for other languages as well. In Swedish and Finnish, it's DD/MM/YY. 10th of October is "tionde oktober" and "kymmenes marraskuuta" respectively.

Also, the dates have a logical progression as far as DD/MM/YYYY, though MM/DD works in colloquial language. Like there's a more natural flow to "the 10th of October 2010", but a basic "October 10" is fine too if you're talking aboutba few weeks in the future.

Ah. But that's the nickname for a holiday. Whenever I say my birthday, or say a date when something happened, I never say the 24th of April, 19XX, or the 28th of October, 20XX. I say, July 3rd, 19XX or March 10th, 20XX. I feel that flows better. For me, at least. People are use to saying it a certain way. Most Americans are probably more use to MM/DD/YY, so it seems to flow better. Where someone from somewhere else is use to DD/MM/YY, so that flows better for them.

Depending on where it is, Jaywalking is sometimes the safest (or only) way to get across. Back home, we have the like 6 lane street to cross. The walk sign would flash for like a second before flashing off. And it was dangerous from cars turn right from two areas. And from cars turn left from one. It was hard, and nearly impossible to cross at the crosswalk during normal traffic hours. So, before we got all the way down there, we'd cross. We'd have to jaywalk, but we did it as safely as possible...
