Tor Valum doesn't retcon Plagueis because he isn't a Sith Lord. He's more like a source of dark knowledge who has no stake in what goes on in the galaxy.

It sounds more like a pilgrimage the top Sith Lord takes when they gain power.

I personally was kinda predicting they kill R2. With BB8 and others he's become kinda extra, plus it would be a great third act low point.

The only other option would be the falcon but no way disney would allow that.

Theres some good stuff about this script/art and some really bad stuff.

Also one thing to note - the script is supposedly dated December 2016, Carrie Fisher died towards the end of that month. Leia was gonna have a much bigger role and a scene in Coruscant. The unused footage JJ managed to scrap was a few lines and on that forest planet.

There was some major script changes they were going to be forced to make and it looks like thats what happened.

When I think of the basic summary of this movie and TROS I think it would be way easier to salvage DOTF.

Fix up Kylo Ren's arc and maybe change the Jedi beacon to be hidden in the Jedi Temple ruins on Coruscant and you've got a movie that ties everything up a lot better.

It's on Star Wars Leaks. No idea what the exact source is. I'm sure it's stated somewhere.

The ones you're talking about were for TROS. It wasn't Tor Valum. That creature was gonna be the thing that would point Kylo Ren to Palpatine.

Oh ok. Those came from the artbook and I know it was from TRoS. Just shit left over.

I was assuming these would come from the same place, unless these are actually leaked concept art, which would be insane because Lucasfilm probably doesn't want those out.

A funny thing about the script is that Kylo goes to meet Palpatines master Tor Vallum, and he asks him about Plagueis. He says That name means nothing to me

So those millions of Snoke fan theories get shattered in Ep 8 and the only other time Plagueis gets mentioned its like lol dude aint s***, lets talk about something actually important instead.

it should be called the Palpatine Saga since hes the one thing connecting all three trilogies.

His last name was Solo and his Mother's last name was Organa. It's not like he really had to carry on the Skywalker name anyway.

Even then the Skywalker lineage is just Anakin and his two kids he didn't raise. Outside of that it's a bunch of slaves and dust farmers.

TLJ seemed to me to be trying to shut the door on a Kylo Ren redemption.

Rian did a will they/won't they thing with him and Rey and then handed us a pretty clear "won't".

It was one of the few subversive elements of the film I thought worked.

I didnt mean literal last name or blood, more like what it means for the main OT characters. What the OT characters set out to do after Ep 6 (the new Jedi order, the new republic) ended in failure because they didnt focus enough on Ben.

He is at the center of the trilogy and what connects the OT characters to the new characters. If all their attempts to make things right with Ben end in failure and theres no form of redemption, then we dont get that wonderful scene of Han Solo bringing Ben back to the light. Lukes line to Leia about Ben, No ones ever really gone means nothing.

I dunno who Mortis is, though he does have a dumb name, but otherwise I like all the cools.

Rey x Poe - not seeing a problem

Ireedeemable Kylo - Interesting, not sure if like or dislike tbh

Retconing Plag - was this guy in the EU or something? I can't imagine how else the guy who was sorta mentioned in passing in those awful prequel movies and was very possibly made up on the spot in an attempt to get Vader to go evil anyway got such a devoted band of followers.

Beacons - I guess this summary is just to precise to illustrate the problem.

Mortis is a weird location that takes the appearance of a planet. It's described by QuiGon as the conduit through which the Force flows. A bunch of wacky force shit happens there. It's in the Clone Wars show.

Yeah maybe it's a lack of imagination on my part but based on what we know of how the Star Wars galaxy operates it's extremely hard to picture "travel and communication between different systems is closed off and you need to light a beacon to reestablish contact" seems like a silly plot

Soldier A and Soldier B could count as nobodies. Especially in Star Wars logic where you have to be related to Vader (or Palpatine) to matter. Vader kills a lot of nobodies in RO.
