It doesn't matter if women in real life can fight with swords or not. The thing he was complaining about was fiction and art, which are subjects that immediately go over conservatives' heads because the rules for art are organic, rather than clear-cut and dry. Plus if he had read the books, he would know that Geralt addressed this matter when he was training Ciri.
