The legs aren't the same, the head isn't the same, the feet aren't the same.

At most you can claim it has a similar posture to a frog, but that's as vague as arguments get.

I dunno I mean claws notwithstanding it looks a lot like a green Budgett's frog.

But I don't think they would have put "saur" in the name of it wasn't meant to be a dinosaur of some kind.

It looks like a dinosaur. Nothing like a frog.

Are all these people who say frog just part of some collective trolling effort? >_>

According to Bulbapedia

Fushigidane may be a combination of fushigi (mysterious) and dane (seed). It literally means "isn't it strange?" (fushigi, da ne?).

Venusaur looks the most like a big ass warty toad, but the other two are just little green monsters. I mean, they all have ears, that's not really a frog thing, and they don't resemble any of the other pokemon who are actually based on frogs like Poliwhirl/wrath/toed, Croagunk, Toxicroak, the Froakie line, etc

Despite its English name and resemblance to the extinct Pareiasaur, its design was confirmed by Ken Sugimori to be based on a frog.

Well there you go. Apparently Venusaur was designed before the first two, so that explains why it has the most froggy features of the three.

IIRC Blastoise wasn't even part of the Squirtle family originally, had a pre-evo that was a tiny turtle with cannons.

Seems like a pattern.

-Saur means lizard, not necessarily dinosaur, for example Pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs.
