Before Pendulum/synchro/XYZ etc?

Recently had a nostalgia driven inkling to get some cards again but Im not really interested in competing or building a meta deck.

The last booster I remember getting was Invasion of Chaos in 2004. So from then until before they started adding stuff to the game I guess lol.

I just jumped back in at Shining Victories I believe. They added a ton of support for older cards

But uhhh... I'd say just be a collector and build some decks in spare time, its what I fell into since I'm not planning to play

Yeah man I just wanna build a deck with what I believe are some cool cards and play casually with some friends without learning a bunch of new rules.

We do the same except we learned... pendulum was fun and broken until they changed the rules. I can't tell you how fun it was to just throw out some of our old cards that took setup to do in less than half the time

We just found some rules we all agreed on and use a modified classic rule set
