When you look at the tone of the anime at the beginning and the end separately, the contrast is obvious, but the journey there was so natural and gradual. It really felt like a grand adventure and while I know theres more in the Manga, I feel this was an amazing ending spot.

Masterpiece in the making. The manga post-2011 proves Chimera Ant was only the tip of the iceberg. So lucky a writer with this much creativity and drive uses a medium I love as much as Shonen to convey his artistic vision

I absolutely agree with Inception, don't know if I can agree as much with Brohan. There are some cool things design wise on HxH, but there series is basically a novel at this point, though it's a bit unfair to judge the lack of art considering Togashi's health situations. I also think that the most recent stuff would translate very poorly to anime. Of course, this is really just for the MOST RECENT stuff, as the content directly following the end of the anime would do very well and is very good.

Of course, we're never gonna get an anime again, so that's not an enormous factor.

Yorknew and the back half/invasion part of Chimera Ant are some top-tier arcs. HxH 2011 is so good.

I don't think this would do anything. He is current puttig out approximately 2 weekly length chapters a year, if that. Moving to a monthly wouldn't actually matter.

I should get back to this eventually... I recently started watching it and was enjoying it, but then the anime hit a lull for me around episode 30 and I stopped.

He's not actually beholden to a schedule! That would just mean one really long chapter every two years instead <_<

More realistically, nobody else is gonna give him this much leeway, and he would just be cancelled if he switched magazines.

We're talking about a series of which there have been multiple accounts of Japanese bookstores selling bundled "Complete" collections if HxH.

Maybe it's because I never read the manga and only watched the anime, but I honestly don't see how so many people place it higher than Yu Yu Hakusho.
