i just learned that tigers are orange because their prey can't see orange and instead see them as green so they blend in perfectly with their environment to their prey. evolving to blend in with your environment? lmao baby shit. evolving to blend in with your preys perception of the environment? hell yea buddy

Evolution doesnt work like that. It isnt Pokemon. It takes millions of years for adaptive changes to make a change like that on a scale it would be dangerous.

And besides we can see green.

Basically whatever works sticks. Tigers could have turned green if it carried out the same function but orange happened first by accident. There might be a physiological reason that orange was more likely to happen. Not a lot of green furry animals come to mind, so perhaps random changes that lead to orange fur are more likely than those that yield green fur. All that in mind, it's not terribly surprising that tigers just evolved to be difficult for their specific prey to see.

like this. do they need to prey on us for this to happen? animals are also being hunted and poached to death, so in some miracle world where we don't kill 90% of everything and tigers are still on the scene, couldn't something trigger like "so humans are fucking a threat lmao gotta avoid those ape demons" and so a path starts of " welp lets see what happens when they just don't fucking see us"

sure we can see green but a green tiger in a green jungle would be harder for humans to see and their prey wouldn't even noticed anything happened. bam just basically invisible ass tigers roaming whats ever left of the landscape
