Yeah, there's been anti-American sentiment in recent days which saw the US Embassy get attacked. That sucks, but is the killing of a prominent general comparable? Is there any reality in which this would de-escalate things? Apparently, "ending a war" means "blowing up a prominent military figure while relations are fraught, and acting like you're the rational one". Trump's biggest campaign promise was to get us out of wars. I trust him and believe that he thought about any potential consequences of the airstrike very carefully and only did it because there was no other viable option.
