You should do DLC quest stuff. Finding the items isn't really impressive content but they can be useful. The Champion's Ballad is an actual good questline. I never had the patience for Trials of the Sword, though.

The Xenoblade stuff isn't exactly something to do right away on a first playthrough. You gotta know certain landmarks on the map

so far I've just been going where the game's told me to go. now that i have the paraglider tho i think I'll roam some. the stamina limit on running is kind of annoying though

Yeah, the main plot doesn't railroad you for very long and it's very worth sticking with it for a short time before you completely bugger off to start exploring.

i did beat it but didn't do most of the extra stuff beyond the beasts

is it recommend to progress the stamina bar or your max hearts first? or just a little of both?

A bit of both I'd say. Depend entirely on how much you want to be able to climb nonsensical things vs how much you want to not die.

Yeah, I would alternate back and forth between both, and I just made sure to have plenty of meals on hand to boost stamina in case I needed to climb something very tall.

I personally did stamina until I had two full rings, then hearts to five hearts, then maxed stamina.

You can always use food to compensate for either, but heart increasing food always seemed more efficient to me.

Of course that means some thing will take awhile to get but hey you can respec if you know where to look.

Its good to have a bit of both. Cooking can make up for what you lack in both. Considering how much stuff there is to climb youre gonna want a decent amount if you intend to explore everything. If its raining dont even bother climbing because no amount of stamina will save you

Funny that we have so many people with the Stamina priority, and I've had heart priority strictly because of The Master Sword

Plus like my only problems with having put two stamina wheels is climbing larger mountains, which hasn't been the highest priority for me yet and I just got to the top of Dueling Peaks the other day anyway.

Master Sword! Good point, once I learned about MS's requirement I was pushing hearts first, then once I had enough hearts for that is when I switched to full Stam

There's a thing you can use to swap heart containers for stamina vessels and vice versa. Don't worry too much about spending orbs on the wrong things. If you want more details here you go:

Recently saw that, but The fact that he costs rupees and I'm trying to make money for a specific other Hateno quest... Not great for me.

I pumped stamina until I had a second full wheel and then focused on hearts until I had a full row. I'm unsure how "efficient" that was but I haven't been complaining. The climbing gear is a godsend though.

I kind of enjoyed keeping my hearts low just to make things more challenging and tense. You can reach a point where nothing threatens you anymore, and I had a lot of fun in the early game being cautious and using different skills to take out enemies because of fragile you can be if you go in a straight up fight.

And I NEVER regretted having a lot more stamina.

Right but at a certain point i got tired of cheesing enemies with bombs, even after upgrading them.

I upgraded stamina at least like 5 times before doing any hearts. The quick fatigue was maddening for me.

Then once I realized I needed hearts for that one thing I dropped all other pursuits and ran around doing like 30 shrines to be able to get it.

I've played like 60-70 hours and haven't set foot inside a divine beast. >.>

Wonderful game!

Also you can run forever without losing stamina by spamming the call horse button. It takes a little practice to be consistent but it's easy.

Don't hoard items like that axe, you'll be rolling in good quality weapons eventually and it's worth using them even if they break.

Did you take the regular path into Kakariko or did you meander your way there across the mountains?

I think my biggest complaint in the game design is that some critical upgrades are locked off unless you do a simple quest you can only find there first
