Empire wins. Hyperspace can travel distances so fast that the covenant just can't keep up.

In space, the Empire.

On land, the Covenant.

The Death Star is capable of blowing a planet up but is one of a kind and is awkward to maneuver. The Covenant can glass a planet pretty fast. I don't think Star Destroyers are built for that.

If this was Legends, Empire would stomp? Disney though? Probably Covenant.

Star Destroyers might not destroy a planet as fast, but they can wipe out whole planets pretty fast as well.

Well they can do this weather thing that'll basically destroy everything on a planet. But I guess it isn't dead forever.

Nah. Even the lower quality hyperspace drives can cross the Galaxy in weeks. Slipstream would take months. Even the covenant slipstream.

All Star Destroyers really do is fire blaster bolts that're big enough to destroy capital ships but that won't wreck the surface of a planet. World Devastators don't count.

Star Destroyers can easily glass a planet. The Covenant couldn't' even really take on Earth, and the Empire is like a hundred Earths.

When did Star Destroyers glass a planet? The Covenant glassed plenty of planets, including Reach, Harvest and Eriandus II .

Also, remember that pretty much every alien species in the Covenant, including the Grunts, are stronger and usually bigger than humans. The Empire is pretty much entirely human. A close up battle, even with the Empire's blasters isn't going to do a lot against a thick Brute hide or Hunter worms. Jackals have energy shields too.

I never followed Star Wars in the extreme sense but in the EU there are these toys called a World Devastator that fascinates me.

I wonder why the Department of Defense or Destruction don't look into these things.

I mean like imagine what a LA or NYC sized city destroying machine would pose?

Didn't even see this post before my post.

At least we were thinking on the same level.
