Keeping a package that is clearly labeled as NOT yours is a crime pretty sure.

Like if it was an unsolicited package unlabled or labeled to you then you can do whatever you want.

It was an older lady who lived in the apartment and she wondered where mine was (I live belowground, because of course I do)

It was a couple of DVDs, she even opened it, like... really? That's a federal offense. Oh well, she's like 70+ years old so I let it slide
I'm just glad it wasn't porn or anything like that >_>

Ive literally gotten a package in apartments for the first floor and was delivered to me in the 3rd floor and knocked on all doors asking if they were the person. It had my apartment number but the name was clearly correct.

All the residents were pleasant and the owner was very happy. Never talked to em before or after.

Same thing happened when I ordered Taylors 1989 album. Got sent to the 202 apartment instead of the 102 one.

They opened it. I didnt care too much, but thats still a federal offense. Dont open other peoples mail.

I get mail intended for 1 of my neighbors at least once a week. I use to write wrong address on it and put it back in my box the next day, but now I paper clip a note saying wrong address because I heard of people being sued for defacing mail.

Happened with my roommate a few months ago. He contacted customer support and they delivered a new one. Then the lady who did get it brought it to our apartment and now he has 2 sets of the books lol.

It doesn't mean that you have to drop everything your doing but surely you have free time to drop it off to the person or go to the post office and drop it off. It's not that hard to be a decent person and that may be how life is for you but not most people.

Sent feedback to Amazon that the package was delivered to the wrong address so guess that's pretty much wrapped up.

Still annoyed that she opened it but everything was okay in the end.

Lastly, LOL @ PIIT and French. Here's hoping your Ayn Rand books don't get misplaced.
And here I was earlier today cleaning up someone else's recycling bin that got tipped over and dumped into the street. Guess I should have done the 'noble' thing and left it, even though it took less than 5 minutes to stop and do something about it.

You shouldn't hold that against her. I once received someone else's package and opened it upon arrival since I was expecting something that I had ordered. I didn't even notice the address until I saw that the contents were wrong.
