I don't love or hate it right now, but I guess if it's an actor I hate that might change. It's probably great for advertising though, as saying something like "Cyberpunk has Keanu Reeves in it" is better than saying it just has him voicing a character.

Stupid. Same with animated movies, and the like.

I think it's cool. I don't see a problem with a developer using an actor's likeness for an in game character.

I hate it. They usually don't know how to voice act, and if the video game character looks TOO much like a celebrity, even if it's not that well known of one, the character loses all charisma because I feel like it's an actor inserted into a video game rather than a character from a fictional Universe to stand on his own.
Like, I won't even given Death Stranding a chance because of the guy they used as the main character, and honestly Kojima can **** himself for giving Snake's job to 24. --- Peace....love....and Understanding - The Three Fundamental Elements of Pacifism. ... Copied to Clipboard!

What is the difference between an actor playing a character in a movie and an actor playing a character in a game in terms of suspension of disbelief? It seems like a weird gamer specific issue that I have never understood. Also, Death Stranding has some of the best voice acting work this gen. --- Clean Butt Crew ... Copied to Clipboard!

It was fun at first but now it's just getting disrespectful to the voice actors we have known and loved for decades.

I dont think it adds anything to the actual game, if anything it takes away from the immersion.

There's always the chance it could backfire, badly, when the celebrity misbehaves.

I don't really care that much either way, but I suppose I'd rather the money were spent on improving the game in more meaningful ways.
