Nah it follows the novels which take place before the games don't worry about it

Doesn't matter. Show seems to be mostly based off of the books but Henry Cavill's portrayal of Geralt and the general look of effects seem to be heavily inspired by the games.

yea, you'll be fine watching the series first.

in fact, since the games come afterwards, it was interesting watching the show after having played Witcher 3, and remembering all the stuff that was referenced in the game and seeing them happen on screen.

If you do that you won't be watching the series for a month tbh. The game is massive, absolutely worth playing, but on the same scale as Skyrim or Breath of the Wild. It's a time investment.

My wife watched the series with me and knew nothing about the books or the games, and she loved it. I say just watch the show and decide if you like the plot and lore enough to get into the game.
