They could have looked at how Westworld & Watchmen handled their timelines/flashbacks. (I havent seen Westworld S2 or S3 so I dunno if they continued with that.) Henry Cavill has stated that his introduction to the Witcher series(franchise?) was by playing Witcher 3 & that he based the voice on the games portrayal of Geralt. 2. The musical score. They were definitely listening to The Witcher 3s soundtrack while composing for the Netflix show. I was surprised it wasnt the same composer, it sounds like it could be part of the same soundtrack. I'm guessing the reason they did the time jumping thing was because they otherwise wouldn't have gotten to use the Yennefer character till episode 5 and no Ciri till the end of the season. This way you get to flesh out the characters in their own right rather than through how they interact with Geralt. It is awkward though.
