Reviews are fucking stupid. Let it give you an idea of what to expect as far as content and substance goes, enjoyment and problems are subjective.

I always looked at reviews as "If you like x y and z, there's a little bit of that. But don't go in if you're expecting abc."

Most of the time people will read this and still expect abc, then get mad when abc isn't there.

I think it's been pretty great. I lowered my expectations after hearing the mixed reviews but don't really understand them after watching the show.

I had seen one article about how the Witcher failed where the Mandalorian succeeded, and after seeing the first four episodes of Witcher I'd say I'm a bigger fan of it so far.

I'm through episode 4 and it's very good. My only complaint is that, prior to episode 4, they do a very poor job of explaining that the three stories are not taking place at the same time.

This review is the biggest joke. It's incredibly suspect, tbqh. I don't feel like Disney would attempt to sabotage Witcher and Netflix, but I mean, RoS did come out the same day and they are trying to win over the Netflix crowd.

Number 1 rule never look at the critic reviews but look at the user scores.

Just look at the last jedi. 9s and 10s across these 'critics' but something like 40% user score.

And then rise of skywalker completely flipped the other way.

Even if there's nothing fishy going on, it still means that these critics are out of touch and don't represent the demographics that has interest.

Witcher is on 92% user score on rotten tomatoes and 8.9 on imdb. That's as good as it gets.

I love the show but it kind of suffers from the same problem as the books and games, which is that it references a lot of people and places and things without actually explaining what they are.
