The current plan is to stick to veggies like lettuce, tomato, cabbage, spinach, carrots etc., lean proteins like chicken, fish and eggs, and grains and legumes like chickpeas, kidney beans, green beans etc.

Cutting down on salt and bread, but leaving room for the occasional sandwich or serving of rice. I'm also not ruling out the option of going out to dinner every couple of weeks with my friends. This will be supplemented by cardio, and 2+ visits to the gym a week.

I don't have the patience for a proper weight loss regime. I probably take the least healthy option possible; near starvation and intense cardio every day. I end up losing about 1 kilo of weight a week. In two months I hit my target of about 10 kilos. I know I should be more responsible, but I hate how long weight loss takes.

I understand the sentiment, and I know I might be setting myself up for failure by putting it off, but my family and friends are always extremely decadent around the holidays and every time I leave myself out of it to stay healthy, I end up joining in anyway and mooching off people. I become a drain on the party, and people tell me to drink, to join in! And I say no like multiple times, especially around my family. But this environment always breaks me down, because the asking never stops until I say yes.

From January, I'm making a full lifestyle change. For December, I'm pulled between reindeer games and unable to say no. I'm making this holiday season my last hurrah, and from 2020 on I'm turning my life around.
