The job is a Commercial credit analyst position in a corporate office with a most likely 4k-5k pay cut. My current job is a call center job that doesn't translate anywhere and there's no way I can grow in the company. In addition, the hours are all over the place and I work Saturdays.

Pros
Translates better than my current job career wise
Standard 5 day week with hours
Not a call center bs job, real actual corporate job

Cons
Its literally downtown, but parking is paid for
Idk about the company, but it is growing in its industry, currently top 10

If it's closer to your career goals, has growth opportunities,
and work life balance is significantly better, I'd go with it. Not like you have to stay there forever anywhere as long as you better yourself professionally.

You do a dry run. Go to the place on a work morning like you would if you work there. That way you get a rough idea of how long it takes you to get to work. Try the same thing for going home as well. If you can do this a few times you will eliminate weird anomalies like half the city skipping work one day or whatever else.

Might be tough to get a realistic picture next week though, what with Christmas week and everyone taking the week off

My 'R' key is on its last legs. This isn't a gimmick. Instead of CTRL + Ving the letter R every time, I am giving up on Rs, so forgive any words missing R.

paycut is relative. are you working less hours? if so, you aren't necessarily taking a paycut if you math it out into how many hours you actually work.

Yes. its not always about the money. Sure its less money NOW but it sounds like the chances for advancement are better at the new job, so you'll be able to make that back and maybe more, whereas, you make it sound like you've pretty much already topped out at your current job. If you can handle your current bills with the pay cut, think of it as temporary and work hard to move up and earn more. Sometimes you have to make a small sacrifice for a better situation in the end.
