Racist?



Hypothetical:

You have a small business owner with 2 employees.

After looking for a 3rd employee there were a few good applicants, but one really shined! So they have an interview and he's very qualified.

The problem is, well, the dude is "Race/Religion/Gender/Species" this person is terrified of from a combination of fear, racism, bad experiences, familial intolerance, the whole shebang!

...

Should the business owner be allowed to discriminate and not hire this very qualified person knowing/thinking they'd be in constant terror working with them?

Ifnot, should the business owner just close up shop, putting the other 2 employees out of work?

Alternatively, should the owner be MANDATED to have to hire despite all the phobias, bigotry, racism, triggering, etc. they suffer from.

This is a reasonable option I should have added to the poll. Desensitization, introduction, and assimilation might help the business owner be more comfortable in general in handling phobias.

Business owners are allowed to discriminate, that's what the entire hiring process is. Otherwise anyone would be able to get any job regardless of qualifications.

It is their business.
