DarkBuster22904 12/15/19 4:04:02 PM #4:	Hyped in the sense that its star wars, a franchise I've loved since I was 5, and there will always be a primal id in me that is hyped to see a new one. That said, TLJ really killed anything special I felt for THIS movie. TFA had problems, but it clearly had a planned trajectory. Rian Johnson literally threw out that trajectory because "what a twist" and didnt leave much compelling left in its place. Now we have the original director coming in to course correct. And we have a final chapter of a trilogy where we know shockingly little about most of the characters, know very little about the conflict/war beyond that it's happening because... nobody knows why, and have little to actually care about. There's only so good a movie like that can realistically be. TBH I feel really bad for JJ Abrams, here. Again, whatever problems TFA had, he was really put in an unwinnable situation with RoS. And while TLJ wasnt perfect I liked that it took chances and wasnt afraid to tell a different story or change the story we thought we knew. But now JJ is back and the cast and JJ himself have been kinda trashing the subverting expectations thing that TLJ did so you just know TROS is gonna be so freaking cookie cutter. But you gotta keep in mind that all I hoped to get out of them was hearing those first glorious measures of the John Williams Star Wars theme on theater audio. And this remains true for 9.
