The Tory boss said work to finally get Britain out of the EU would start later today, with the Tories on course for a majority of 86 and to take 46 per cent of the vote. He was was applauded and cheered by supporters as he arrived at his count in Uxbridge alongside girlfriend Carrie - minutes after the Labour boss announced he would quit after losing dozens of seats. The expected results mean Britain's political chaos could finally be over, leaving Boris with the numbers to finally push his Brexit deal through Parliament in just weeks. Just after 5am this morning the PM's majority was confirmed as he made it over the line to formally win the election. And speaking in West London in the early hours of the morning, he declared: "It does look as though this One Nation Conservative government has been given a powerful new mandate to get Brexit done. "And not just to get Brexit done, but to untie this country and to take it forward and to focus on the priorities of the British people, and above all, on the NHS." He added: "This historic election gives us now the chance to respect the democratic will of the British people, to change this country for the better and to unleash its potential.
